Mr. Dan Marlone, the Managing Director of AFFOSHED, undertook his debut assignment in the Electricity Supply Industry in 2004, when he was tasked by the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) to coordinate top leaders and key stakeholders of various regions in Uganda for sensitization and awareness in their rights and responsibilities as electricity consumers. He later went on to serve on the ERA Installation Permits Committee (responsible for certifying electrical installation wiremen, technicians, engineers and contractors) for 12 years, when he left to go and manage the EU funded HYPOSO (Hydro Power Solutions for Developing and Emerging Countries) Project.
Over the last two decades, he has engaged with many actors in the energy, power and electricity industries, both in East Africa and abroad, including forums like the RENEXPO InterHydro, Salzburg, Austria; HYDRO 2022 at Strasbourg, France; ICOLD Congress at Marseille, among others.
He is a founder National Executive Member and current Chairman of the Hydro Power Association of Uganda (HPAU), Chairman Board of Directors for the Uganda National Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Alliance (UNREEEA) and a member of the Uganda Committee on Large Dams (UCOLD). He was also the Alternate Chair for the Developers and Operators Chamber of the International Hydropower Association Hydropower Sustainability Governing Council.
