Background

Our company was founded in 2017, as the Advocacy Forum for Small Hydropower Expansion and Development, AFFOSHED. Over the years, however, the demand, the need and the potential to venture into other forms of energy and power, together with our rich and fast growing network of experts and companies in Africa and Europe influenced the decision to metamorphose into full fledged private sector company. AFFOSHED CO. LIMITED is duly registered by the Uganda Registration Service (URSB). The company is also a corporate member of the Hydro Power Association of Uganda (HPAU).

Scope of Works

The core focal areas of our company include –

(1). Consumer Protection: – Working in tandem with various stakeholders to ensure that consumers of our services and products are safe and aware of their rights and responsibilities.

(2). Electrical Installation by Certified Wiremen: – Promoting the use of Wiremen that are certified by the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) for all electrical installation works, particularly in the Distribution Segment of the Electricity Supply Industry (domestic, commercial and industrial premises). Under this focal area, we have an initiative dubbed WiSE (Wirepersons Support Effort), a voluntary initiative geared towards supporting electricians and electrical companies on issues concerning electrical installation works, installation permits, safety, consumer protection, new connections and quality of service, among others.

(3). Quality Electro-Mechanical Equipment: – Dealing in importation, supply, sale and distribution of all types of quality standardized electro-mechanical equipment from reputable sources; both locally and globally.

(4). Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Technologies: – Engaging in opportunities to develop all forms of renewable energy technologies (hydro power, solar energy, biogas, biomass, geothermal, clean cooking, energy efficiency and e-mobility) among others.

(5). Climate Change and Environment Protection: – Working with like-minded partners to ensure the sustainable development of our resources; with our future generations and the planet earth in mind.

(6). Strategic Partnerships and Linkages: – AFFOSHED, through its Founder and Managing Director, has worked on several projects under the Government of Uganda ministries, departments and agencies, together with other key private sector (developers, consultants) and electrical engineering and construction companies; often offering expert advice, business linkages and administrative backup support at different phases of project development.

We, as AFFOSHED, believe that, in a way, everybody has a solution for somebody! Every government agency or private sector company has a solution, which, if utilised at the right time, place, in the prescribed manner, will help make this world a better place for us all, and for all our future generations! All we need are the linkages!
